GUIDELINES FOR WRITING SCIENTIFIC JOURNAL ARTICLES

CONTENTS OF RESEARCH OR NON-RESEARCH ARTICLESA research article consists of an INTRODUCTION, METHODS, RESULTS AND DISCUSSION, CONCLUSIONS, and REFERENCES. The Introduction section at least presents the background or rationale for the research, the problem and insight into the problem-solving plan, and the formulation of the research objectives (along with expectations regarding the benefits of the research results). The Introduction section must also include references as a theoretical basis related to the problem being studied. The research method contains a paragraph-shaped explanation of the research design, data sources, data collection techniques, and data analysis conducted by the researcher. The results and discussion are presented in an integrated manner and reviewed from various previous related theories. The research article closes with a conclusion. The conclusion is presented in essay form, not in numerical form. Recommendations are formulated based on the conclusions that have been drawn.A non-research article consists of an INTRODUCTION, MAIN TEXT, and CONCLUSION. The introduction contains the background and objectives or scope of the writing. The Main Section is the core part of a non-research article. The content of the Main Section varies depending on the topic discussed, but must pay attention to good content organization. More general content should be presented before more detailed content. In addition, the presentation of one section of the content should always be shown in relation to the other sections. The conclusion is presented in essay form, not in numerical form.

 

WRITING TERMS

Writing Format

The standard font for this article is Book Antiqua. The article should be typed in 11pt font and single-spaced. Each article should be a minimum of 6 and a maximum of 12 pages (including figures and tables) and should be written in a justified format. The article should be written in essay format, not bulleted or numerical.Subtitles are written in 12pt, bold font, UPPER CASE format, left-aligned, and unnumbered. Sub-subtitles are written in 12pt, bold font, Title Case format, and left-aligned, numbered or lettered.Figures and tables are placed within text groups and captioned. Figures are followed by a figure title, placed below the figure. Tables are given a table title, placed above the table.

Figure and table titles are numbered sequentially. Tables are displayed without vertical lines, while only three main horizontal lines are displayed: two horizontal lines for column headings and a closing line for the bottom row.

Tables and figures quoted from other sources must be accompanied by a caption including the author's last name and year of publication.The formulas referred to should be numbered as follows.

Formulas that are not referenced should not be numbered. Proofs of lemmas and theorems can be given directly below them following the format provided.

 

Citation Rules

The APA system is used for citation of manuscripts or literature. The reference list contains only sources cited in the article. References should consist of at least 80% journal articles from the last 10 years. Citations should be written using the reference feature in Microsoft Word, Mendeley or Zotero.

 

ARTICLE SUBSTANCE

Articles are expected to contain original work, be highly up-to-date, make a significant scientific contribution, and have a high scientific impact. Referenced sources should be primary and up-to-date. The degree of up-to-dateness of referenced materials can be assessed by the proportion of publications within the last 10 years for books and the last 5 years for journal articles (except in certain fields that have not experienced much updating).

 

REFERENCE

The reference list should be written in APA style. Citations should be written using the reference feature in Microsoft Word, Mendeley or Zotero.Examples of APA citation and reference list rules:
